Stephen Hawking: There Is No God and AI Will Overtake Humans in the Next 100 Years

Stephen Hawking has said that there is no God and that computers will overcome humans in next 100 years. The 73 year old turned down idea that there is a God in an discussion by stating that science is able to clarify the initiation of everything. When questioned by Spanish newspaper El Pais if scientists should ever believe in God, Hawking replied: "I use the word, God, in an impersonal sense, like Einstein did, for the laws of nature." After that he was asked: "Do you think humans would one day abandon religion and God?" to which he responded: "The laws of science are sufficient to explain the origin of the universe. It is not necessary to invoke God."

The motor neurone disease victim went on to say that the future of the humankind could be unwelcoming. He said that if extra-terrestrials visit Earth, they possibly will take over our planet. Hawking said: "Such advanced aliens would perhaps become nomads, looking to conquer and colonies whatever planets they can reach. To my mathematical brain, the numbers alone make thinking about aliens perfectly rational.

The real challenge is to work out what aliens might actually be like." On the topic of artificial intelligence (AI), he said: "Computers will overtake humans with AI in some next 100 years. When that happens, we need to make sure the computers have goals aligned with ours.

I think the survival of the human race will depend on its ability to find new homes elsewhere in the universe, because there's an increasing risk that a disaster will destroy Earth. I therefore want to raise public awareness about the importance of space flight. I have learnt not to look too far ahead, but to concentrate on the present. I have so much more I want to do."

Don’t be surprised (if you are) this isn't the first time that the theoretical physicist has criticized religion. Back in a June, 2015, in an interview, Hawking told Spanish newspaper El Mundo that science has taken us too far to have faith in in an all-powerful deity.

He said "Before we understand science, it is natural to believe that God created the universe. But now science offers a more convincing explanation. What I meant by 'we would know the mind of God' is, we would know everything that God would know, if there were a God, which there isn't. I'm an atheist,"

  1. My mother was diagnosed with ALS in May 2014. Her doctor put her on riluzole, letting her know there was no cure but the medication might provide her a few more months of delayed symptoms. ALS progresses at different rates and affects different body parts first. My mother, being 80 at the time, fell into a category of what they call "fast progression" (older female). Her arms weakened first, then her hands, her mouth, and throat, and finally her lungs. Throughout her two-and-a-half-year ordeal, she was able to walk with assistance. All the while she continued to take the riluzole. If it bought my mother any time, we will never know. Her neurologist told us that if she couldn't afford it, there was no real need to take it. She lost touch with reality. Suspecting it was the medication I took her off the riluzole (with the doctor’s knowledge) and started her on the ALS natural herbal formula we ordered from GREEN HOUSE HERBAL CLINIC, We spoke to few people who used the treatment here in Canada and they all gave a positive response, her symptoms totally declined over a 7 weeks use of the Green House ALS disease natural herbal formula. She is now almost 83 and doing very well, the disease is totally reversed! (Visit their website www . Greenhouseherbalclinic . com) I am thankful to nature, herbs are truly gift from God.
